Eye on the Prize – ROW80 check in

Read Time:1 Minute, 18 Second

So I just ran the numbers from last week’s three sprints and I was surprised to see that I surpassed by 5,000 weekly word goal with 6,100 words. Nice little treat for the end of the week and here I was feeling guilty that I missed a sprint and thought that I hadn’t written enough again this week. I’m starting to to get closer to the climax. I’m thinking about 5-7 more chapters until I’m there. If I stick to the outline I will need to write about 2-3 chapters per week for the rest of ROW80 to……..FINISH my WIP!

On the blogging front, I wrote 3 posts in advance last week and the Genre Blog Series kicked off on Wednesday with a fabulous post by Elizabeth S. Craig on writing traditional mystery murders. I’m looking forward to this Wednesday where fellow ROW80 pal, Barbara McDowell, will be talking about the Horror genre. I also posted by somewhat anticipated book review of “Will Write for Shoes: How to Write a Chick Lit Novel”. A great craft book that I would recommend to all writers writing women’s fiction or thoseΒ with strong female leads.

I’ve also made it half way through another craft book. I seem to just be flying through these this round, but I did choose books that are a little less technical so it makes for smoother reading.

So I can see the finish line in sight. Just gotta keep my eye on the prize!

Check out the other ROW80 participants progress here.
